Happy Birthday to Me!

I'm late getting this up but I figured since I took the pictures I should post them. I still went to work but it was at the end of the semester and after finals so there wasn't much to do. I ended up chaperoning a field trip to USC for a bunch of our 9th graders. It was a little long to be on the campus (8:30 to 3:00) but the kids had a good time and were on pretty good behavior. I did have to remind a couple kids that we weren't at our school so they had to get up and throw their trash in an actual trash can. The coolest part of the day for me was sneaking into a the back of a sound editing class. They were having a guest speaker that day on the concerns associated with mixing music and sound effects. I was getting into it but the students with me got bored so we snuck out early.
After work I rushed to pick up the boys and we met Richard over at Disneyland to take advantage of their birthday deal. We have passes so instead of getting free admittance, I got the gift card to buy some souvenirs. I bought the boys some pins and a sweatshirt for me.
Here are the boys waiting for the parade. I made them watch it (we usually avoid them) and they enjoyed it despite all of their earlier complaints.

Latter we went by Toon Town where Nathan showed off his muscles.

And Josh channeled his inner fireman.

Here we are ready to go home. The park closed earlier than we are used to but the boys were tag teaming bad moods so we were ready to go.

New Smile

I don't know if you can see it very well in this picture but Nathan has lost his first tooth. It started with having dinner at McDonald's last week. He and Josh were playing on the play structure when Nathan was trying to pull Joshua up the slide by grabbing onto Josh's shirt with his teeth. It didn't pull his tooth out right then but it did make it definitely loose. He spent the next couple days wiggling it and showing it off to anyone that we met. Finally at Jessica's on Monday the tooth fell out. We actually left it at Jessica's but the Tooth Fairy visited anyway. One down, many more to come.

Easter 2009

It is a week late but still topical, especially because I still haven't put away the Easter decorations. We started the celebrations a week early with a Easter egg hunt in the front yard. We did it early because Richard's sister's daughter was in town for her spring break yet wouldn't be around on Easter. Tifarrah, R.J., and Katelyn came over in the afternoon. Richard and I had hidden the Easter eggs earlier. R.J. decided that he was too old to look for eggs and stayed inside with Richard to play computer games. Katelyn I think felt too old also but she was very helpful in assisting Joshua look for his eggs.

Nathan and Joshua looking for eggs. Nathan had put a bunch of colored gel in his hair so that is why it looks a little weird.

Katelyn helping Josh.

During the next week we colored a bunch of eggs. Nathan was very careful with the eggs and kept bossing Joshua about the best way to do it. We need to work on that.

Joshua working very hard.

And here are the annual Easter baskets from Grandma Tessie. We usually don't get them much for Easter because Grandma does such a great job. We had a lovely Easter and hope that you all did too.
